Hoosiers Use Second-Half Scoring Run To Pull Away-- Box Score
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team battled basket for basket before a big second-half scoring run helped Indiana University pull away for an 82-56 victory Sunday afternoon at the Klotsche Center.
"This (Indiana) is a team of great shooters," UMW head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "This isn't a team that you can make a lot of mistakes against because they can shoot the ball so well. We knew we had to play a near-perfect game and I just felt like we got complacent in the second half. We made some bad passes – we had three turnovers in the first half and 12 in the second - and we lost our composure." Read more
Four in Double Figures as Women Cruise Past Lamar-- Box Score
Four starters scored in double figures as the Wright State women's basketball team cruised to an 82-61 win over Lamar Sunday afternoon at WSU's Nutter Center.
The Cardinals scored the first six points of the game, and held the lead until the Raiders went in front 15-13 on a Lexi Smith three-point play with 13:04 remaining in the first half. Lamar regained the advantage at 18-17 on a Dominique Edwards three, only to see WSU go ahead for good with a 10-0 run, capped off by threes from Courtney Boyd and Breanna Stucke. Read more
En Fuego! Titans Break School Three-Point Record In Firing Past Toledo-- Box Score
TOLEDO, Ohio (12/14/2014) -- Redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds had a game-high 26 points, senior Ellisha Crosby poured in a season-high 24 and the Titans broke a school record with 15 3-pointers as the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team charged past the Toledo Rockets, 83-72, on Sunday in the final game of the Glass City Classic at Savage Arena.
Reynolds was named to the All-Tournament Team as she tied her career best with seven 3-pointers and also had nine rebounds and two assists, while Crosby was named the Glass City Classic Tournament MVP following up her double-double yesterday with 24 points, eight rebounds and two assists on Sunday. The win was also number 93 for head coach Autumn Rademacher '97 as she is now tied for the school record in victories with her coach at Detroit Fred Procter (93, 1990-96). Read more
UIC Defeats EIU, 78-66, for Fourth Straight Victory-- Box Score
CHARLESTON, Ill. - The UIC women's basketball team (7-1) is off to its best start in the Division I era (1981-present) following a 78-66 road win at Eastern Illinois (3-7) Sunday. The Flames used a 22-0 run early in the second half on their way to a fourth straight win.
UIC has won four straight games for the first time since March 19-29, 2014. The 2014 WBI Champions have won 11 of their last 12 contests dating back to last season. Read more
